DEMO did it ... and reliability ... and service!
Reliability standard of manufacture were two key points that weighed heavily in a decision to purchase one of Tigercat's latest harvesters.
That, and seeing the LH822D at DEMO in Canada last year, clinched the deal for Peter and Theresa Lonergan, owners of P & T Lonergan Pty Ltd.
“We made the decision in January with contracts being awarded late February so the machine was ordered in March and delivery was end July and it was in Tumut by mid-July and waiting for the head attachment,” said Theresa.
The Lonergans started operating heavy haulage in 2005 and then started a harvesting and haulage operation with Hume Forest in 2007 at Woomargama for five years.
Then they started working for FCNSW in 2012 and HVP in 2014.
However, the industry connection goes even further back with Peter having been involved in the industry for 30 years in one form or another.
Their site operations are in Southern NSW around Tumbarumba For FCNSW and North East Victoria around Myrtleford for HVP.
As Theresa said ... “We made the decision to go with the LH822D after seeing the new D Series at DEMO in Canada last year. We have had a 845B Harvester and currently have 2 x LH830. The 822 replaces the 830 as a harvesting machine.
“We also have a 1075B and a new 1075C Tigercat Forwarder and they've been very reliable.” When it comes to standout points, Peter says there are a few ... The new cab offers operator comfort, better view; fuel economy; advanced technology / hydraulics; service.
He says that it could be considered a complete package with the reliability and the standard of manufacture being so high.
“They sell themselves once you have owned one,” he says.
“Plus, the service is local so it's reliable and quick,” Theresa is quick to point out.
