LAWRIE MCKINNA

Australian Four Four Two - - GRAND FINAL FEVER -

Mariners coach

We should have been up two or three nil up in the first half. We missed chance after chance. It was guaranteed Sydney were going to come back into it. And then the old sucker punch in the second half. Dwight Yorke had too much space at the edge of the box. I think Andrew Clark and Noel Spencer tried closing him down but it was too late. I was gutted then because we had started the game so well. I think Ian Crook (Sydney assistant coach) even said at half-time that Sydney should have been down a couple of goals. And when a team get off the hook, then take the lead, it’s very hard to change that momentum.
