The ball hit my arm. It wasn’t intentional. I remember as I jumped there was someone in front of me and I couldn’t see the ball properly. My heart sank because I thought straight away, penalty. The ref didn’t see it, obviously, which was lucky for me. But a few of the Mariners boys did and it all kicked off. Actually I didn’t notice the incident with Danny because at the time the Griffiths boys [Adam and Joel] had sort of run up to me and said: ‘What were you thinking?’ and I was focused on that. In the end I felt horrible. Obviously the blame wasn’t on me for what Danny did but at the same time, I was in the Olympic team with him and I knew how much that whole tournament meant to him.
