DENNIS WISE ASKED ME: “DO US A FAVOUR AND PUT THAT GUY IN THE STANDS...”

Australian Four Four Two - - UPFRONT -

play or are they not? Anyone that’s in an offside position is always interfering with play because you’re affecting how the defender stands and how he’s pushing up or dropping off. If you’re offside, you’re offside! My proudest moment was playing for Australia. You dream of that when you’re a kid and every time you had a chance to play for Australia it was a very proud moment. If it wasn’t for football I wouldn’t have been able to meet and befriend so many great people of all nationalities around the world. When you play over the years, you meet so many different characters in football and some of them stick more fondly in your memory than others. You might have a relationship or a bond with someone that you might not speak to for five years, but then you might come across them again and it always brings back so many great memories. Three words that sum me up would be tall, white and ginger. If I had one wish I would rewind the clock and do it all again! There’s a lot of things you think you could change and you don’t want to change the course of your life, but if I could go back and start my football career again I would. There’s nothing better than playing football – it’s the best time of your life.
