STAYING STRONG

Australian Geographic Outdoor - - Your View - Cherylynne Bullen, via email

I’m a 61-year-young woman who is changing my lifestyle to improve my health. I have hashimoto thyroiditis and with the medication I am on it depletes my bone density so I must walk to keep my bones strong. I try to walk 6km at least four days a week and I have joined this wonderful and caring walking group who walk 10-18km each Saturday in a different area on the Sunshine Coast. Four of us are in the planning stage of walking the Portugal Camino in September so now the pressure is on to get fit and have the correct equipment to help me enjoy this walk without injury. Reading AG Outdoor has certainly encouraged me to keep on keeping on and that it’s not over when you are 60! So thank you AG Outdoor for your wonderful articles.

Congratulations Cherylynne, you’ve won an awesome The North Face Duffel bag (RRP$170).
