WE FIRST PURCHASED YOUR magazine in March/April last year and that first edition featured an article on AGO’s favourite walks from all over the world. One of the walks was referred to as one of Australasia’s hardest walks: the Dusky Track at the bottom of Fiordland in New Zealand. My girlfriend had done a bit of a trekking previously and I took an interest when we first started dating but had never done any serious trekking or anything like this. I instantly said that I wanted us to do it together. We set about training and sure enough undertook the trek over the Christmas break. It was so challenging but rewarding and I have a new found appreciation for the outdoors and spending our holidays in such an amazing way.We have purchased your magazine religiously since then and are currently planning our next walk together. Thanks for the latest feature on the South Island, New Zealand. We think we will head back there again, maybe for something a little bit less challenging this time! Michael Parmentier, NSW Thanks for the letter and kind words Michael. To help you pack for many more adventures, enjoy this The North Face duffel bag (RRP$180).

NZ’s Dusky Track, one of our Top Trek selections in 2016, was just the challenge one of our readers was up for.
