6 Of The Best: Northern Territory

Best half-dozen NT escapes

Australian Geographic Outdoor - - Contents - Words and Photos Justin Walker

The Northern Territory is Australia’s least populated state or territory. There are a number of reasons for this, but we like to believe it is so all that spare space could be used to fill the NT with a bucketload of adventures. From epically remote 4WD camping and multiday treks that finish each day beside pristine waterfalls, to one of Australia’s most impressive MTB trail networks, or pristine paddling through ancient gorges, we reckon our top six NT adventures proves that theory… well and truly.

Outback sunrise in Finke Gorge NP. Campsites here are pristine and truly remote.

The Finke Gorge NP – the perfect place for an outback odyssey.
