What you think about all things outdoors

Australian Geographic Outdoor - - Contents -

MY NAME IS JEMI HUGGETT. I am 15 years old and from the Southern Highlands in New South Wales.

I am inspired by the articles I read in Australian Geographic Outdoor magazine. I first started trekking whilst on a week long school camp. I came away passionate about the outdoors and connecting with nature. Since then, I have been on a 12-day hiking expedition and received a subscription to your magazine for my birthday. I love going with my family and friends to explore local tracks and bush walks use the trails to train for my longer hiking trips. I am currently planning my next big adventure…I will be turning 16 whilst on a 21 day course in New Zealand! It will be my first time trekking internationally and AG Outdoor magazine has provided me with so many helpful tips and product suggestions as I am preparing. I aim to become an outdoor educator when I finish school. I love to share my passion for the outdoors and encourage others around me to experience the beauty of the natural world and appreciate what is around them.

Thanks for all the tips and tricks! Jemi Huggett, NSW

ALWAYS INSPIRING

Subscribing to your magazine has opened my eyes to all new sorts of outdoor recreation and adventure. Never before has a magazine explored the myriad outdoor activities for all people, especially within Australia! This magazine inspires me deeply, through its imagery and awe inspiring trekking options. There is truly an infinite amount of amazing places to visit and explore in this country. In light of this, I would love to see some more articles regarding environmental preservation and conservation, as ensuring that our landscape is cared for and protected, is just as important as exploring it. After all, there is no community more pro-active and passionate for nature than the outdoor-loving community! I can’t wait to see more great content from this great magazine. VARIETY IS LIFE

Hello from a long-term reader. The latest issue (Mar-Apr 17) proves once again why I keep on picking up this magazine; with the wide variety of destinations and activities throughout, whether it was the Editor’s Antarctica trip, or the bucket list of treks, Outdoor continues to inspire me to keep on getting out there. Nice work by all involved and I look forward to many more fantastic stories! Kel Evans, QLD

TAKING ON ADVICE

I read Outdoor on and off – the main trigger for me laying down my money is the Outdoor Tech and Gear Test sections. You have some of the most experienced writers to explain the differences between different equipment, whether it is sleeping bags, tents or backpacks, and I look forward to you more gear-oriented issues every time. Well done and keep up the good work. Stephanie Mallison, NSW
