PS Audio is well known as an audio equipment manufacturer but it also provides state-ofthe-art recording technology to lesser-known artists. Sonoma Master Series One is a collection of diverse tracks by diverse artists. The opening track, Quill Pen Feather, features a Colorado folk quintet, Elephant Revival. It has a relaxed, sprightly tempo and harmonic dual vocal lead. The second track has Janet Feder creating a ruminative guitar space jam on No Apology. A definite highlight is trumpeter Ron Miles’ melodic piece, Darken My Door with his lyrical and concise lines. Mirage For Debussy is a collaboration between cellist David Darling and pianist Jacqueline Tschabold Bhuyan. The sound quality of this stereo SACD is excellent. The range of the instruments is delivered impressively and the tonal quality is expansive… indeed every facet of this SACD is outstanding.
