PIONEER SE-CH9T IN-EAR MONITORS
Pioneer says its new SE-CH9T in-ear monitors have ‘Hi-Res Audio Certified’ 9.7mm drivers. The Pioneer SE-CH9T is rated to reproduce a frequency range extending from 5Hz to 50kHz and has a double-layer metal structure featuring a brass nozzle and aluminium sleeve that Pioneer says ‘ eliminates resonances and vibrations’ and detachable cables with MMCX connectors. ‘ These high-quality in-ears have been specially designed for mobile use to enable the best hi-fi music experience,’ said Shelden Walker, of Powermove Distribution, which distributes Pioneer in Australia. ‘ They have an exclusive airflow control port that additionally increases the sound definition in the medium- and low-frequency ranges and the in-line remote control and microphone with call answer/end function that’s fitted to the cable makes it ideal for use with smart phones as well as with portable hi-res audio players such as the Pioneer XDP-30R and XDP300R.’ Walker told Australian Hi-Fi Magazine that the SE-CH9T would go on-sale in December, at which time he expected the retail price to be around $199, and that unlike Pioneer’s lower-priced SE-CH5T model, the SE-CH9T would only be available in black.
