Design, interiors and architecture guru Favourite bloom: Phalaenopsis orchid
“Somehow I have amassed a number of potted Phalaenopsis orchids, or moth orchids, which are clustered on a table with a variety of ceramics, wooden sculptures and various vessels. During the flowering period, it’s a sea of white blooms, but even when the orchids are bare sticks, the sense of an arrangement of objects, plus the green leaves, sustains their appeal. They are positioned by a window that faces west so they get lots of sun. While my orchids do get watered intermittently, they seem to thrive on neglect.”
