Australian House & Garden - - Letters -

My tween and I had spent months hunting for inspiration for her bedroom, but nothing really hit the spot. We bought November H&G for the children’s bedroom feature, but my daughter fell head over heels for the teen’s room created by Moss in Top 50 Rooms. Absolute perfection! My tween has now drawn up her own design, using this beautiful room as a base, and I’m as thrilled as she is. Thanks for the inspo. Emma Daniell, Moonee Ponds, Victoria

Practically perfect

Looking though your October issue for renovation advice, I was surprised at Josh and Jenna’s kitchen (Now & Forever). I get their love of clean lines and easy-to-live with colours, but their kitchen lost me on the practicality front. As I delved further into the issue, however, I was captivated by lovely decorating features, indoor/outdoor areas, gardens we’d all wish to have, and a lot more. Well done, H&G. Definitely a magazine to keep and refer to as my home blossoms, like those paper flowers in Above & Beyond! Jane Dillon, Sunbury, Victoria

Browsing history

Today I visited Bronte House, where I enjoyed the visual beauty of the magnificent home and garden, learnt a little history and received a copy of September H&G. Back home, I relived the experience through your feature on the property (Estate Of Mind) and relished your suggestions for home improvement. I’ll be encouraging everyone to visit Bronte House on its next open day, and subscribing to H&G, my new best friend.

Memory lane

Peter FitzSimon’s On Home (September) brought back fond memories of my own farm childhood. As I read the story to my 10-year-old son, I choked up at the part where Peter describes his dad. I had a dad like Peter’s: capable, respectable, someone to turn to when you were in trouble. It was a lovely reminder to cherish special moments with family. Ideas brewing

As a working mum, opportunities to put my feet up and read are few. But today I managed to make a cup of tea and sit down with H&G. I was rewarded with lots of ideas for the extension we’re planning, and I look forward to more quiet moments with H&G. Dannielle Wilson, Brunswick West, Victoria
