Win A Laundry Worth $10,000!
In the second part of this design series, Juliette Arent of Arent&Pyke shares details of her dream laundry.
For interior designer and mum of twins Juliette Arent, living close to the beach in Sydney means towels and swimmers are added to the washing load in the summer months, while a dryer is part of the mix during the cooler winter months.
“My laundry is concealed in the kitchen zone, so it’s a high-traffic area. My husband is a wonderful cook, so he is the chef in our home while I take care of the laundry – so we get to spend quality time together!
“However, my ideal laundry would be slightly more generous in size, have bench space for sorting clothes and a linen cupboard. Natural light is always paramount so a window and a door leading outside to the garden are also a must.”
“The theme for my ideal laundry is modern and urban, which, at Arent&Pyke, we define as a design that provides function and flexibility for everyday living, typically with some limitations on space.
“The slate wall colour shown here is imbued with soothing green tones to signify an oasis and to connect back to the greenery outside. Used as a highlight, the patinated bronzed brass finish on trims and fixtures throughout adds a layer of bespoke detailing to the joinery. The warm timber flooring softens the laundry space, creating a more relaxed and inviting environment for this everyday ritual.”
