Other than a 25mm rise, metrics-wise you are looking at the same back and upsweep as the carbon bar from Truvativ. You are also still getting the choice of a Troy Lee Designs CoLab if jet black isn’t your thing. One big surprise was how compliant these bars were when comparing them to their carbon bigger brother. Even with its oversized 35mm clamp and using the same stem we found the Truvativ Descendant Alloy bar offers less hand fatigue on long, rough descents when compared to the carbon version. While you do not get to feel the same direct control when muscling the bike that the carbon bar gives you, the trade-off is a smoother ride at perhaps half the cost and less stress and concern if you dig your bars into the dirt during a crash.
