Limited Lowndes

Craig Lowndes will finally receive the ultimate accolade from Holden when he gets his own car to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his stunning debut at Bathurst.

Just as his mentor Peter Brock was asked to put his name to the Holden Commodore in the 1980s in recognition of his racetrack success, Lowndes is getting a special edition Commodore to celebrate his triumphs with the red lion brand.

The car in question is a limited edition of the SS-V Redline and it’s likely to be a sellout with just 161 examples, although Holden has not confirmed exact details of the production run or pricing at this point.

A picture of the Lowndes car shows that the badging and the equipment is expected to run to a heads-up instrument display, keyless start and radar crash alert, special wheels and – not surprisingly – stripes.
