FORD XW PHASE II GT-HO GRECIAN GOLD WITH BLACK STRIPES
Available 4th Quarter 2014 1/18 Scale Model Diecast Replica
In 1970 Ford produced a new XW GT-HO – the Phase 2, and with it a vision to win at Bathurst. From the outside, the Phase 2 looked very similar to the previous 1969 XW GT-HO, except the Phase 2 now had 5 slot rims with chrome hubcaps. Mechanically, the XW Phase 2 was a different car from its predecessor. The Windsor engine was replaced by the new 351 cubic inch Cleveland. This was a high revving performance engine. The new Cleveland had the potential to produce great horsepower, the GT-HO engine was rated at 300bhp, but the true figure would have been closer to 345bhp. The new GT-HO would not disappoint on the race track, with Allan Moffat winning Sandown and Bathurst at the wheel.
The Cleveland engine has an outstanding level of detail including finely moulded hoses, leads, tubing and fine graphics.
The interior features the elaborate steering wheel and dash featuring full instrumentation and components.
