Run in Queensland
Aussie Muscle Car Run concept’s expansion continued with the running of the first Queensland event in July, a 2125km trek starting and ending on the Gold Coast after visits to Warwick, Roma, Emerald, Rockhampton, Bundaberg and Tewantin.
One entrant who has participated in all six of the Leukaemia Foundation’s fundraising ‘Runs’ was Jeff Gilbert. Jeff joined the inaugural Queensland run as a tribute to his wife Beverly, who passed away from a blood cancer just three months after the first run in South Australia in 2012. His co-driver, Pam Frith, also has a special reason for joining the run, after losing her mother to leukaemia.
Jeff and Pam hit the road in his silver Gallaher tribute XR GT Ford Falcon.
The next Aussie Muscle Car Run is the ‘Igniting the Island’ event that starts and ends in Adelaide and includes entry-level competition events on the magnificent Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit.
