is no replacement for the smell of petrol and the roar of old style V8 engines and the rumble, plus the feeling of vinyl. And for that the Aussie Muscle Car Run is a must do event. What’s in your own vehicle fleet?
I have a fully restored EH Holden, a 179 Special, plus the HJ Kingswood that was in the movie I did with Paul Hogan, Charlie and Boots. I’ve had that fully restored. In the movie it had bucket seats, but I’ve put the benchseat back in. That’s a 202. I’ve got Utes and bikes around the farm, too. I’m an ambassador for Indian motorcycles and Victory motorcycles, so I’m sorted when it comes to bikes. And my daily drive is a Porsche Cayenne GTS, so I do have a V8 at my finger tips. No muscle car, as such?
I am lacking an Aussie muscle car in my garage, yes, which I’ll have to rectify. That’s the thing I loved about the Aussie Muscle Car Run – I got to sample so many great examples. It was a fantastic experience. To enter you do need to own – or at least have access to – a muscle car, but I encourage readers to get out there and travel this great country with some wonderful, good-hearted people. Autopics.
