Choose your own build number

Holden

has made the unusual move of letting customers that have ordered a Special Edition Motorsport, Director or Magnum Commodore choose their build number via a special selection website, as part of a push to deliver a high level of customer service in the transition from the Australian-built chapter into a fully imported future.

Customers descended on the website to claim their build number, with half of the numbers gone in 15 minutes, and three quarters allocated within a few hours.

The first build numbers to go included the first 200 and last 100 of each version, as well as repeated digit numbers such as ‘55’, before the website closed on May 10.

It’s not just Special Edition customers that have been given something a bit special with their Commodore. Holden is also providing all buyers of 2017 models with a memento in the form of photos of their car coming down the Elizabeth production line, via email to them after they take delivery.
