Right hook Camaro
AMC reader Jason Chaplin sent us the images here from Australian Motor Manual’s October 1967 issue of the Chev Camaros offered by Melbourne dealer Bill Paterson Motors.
Note that the test car provided to the magazine for a test drive is right-hand drive, as is the example in Patterson’s advertisement in the same issue.
This had Jason flicking to the story within that issue to learn more about the RHD Camaros offered by the dealership, but his curiosity was left unquenched.
“The story is just a report on the actual car with very few Aussie mentions other than it having a front laminated window handy for Australian conditions,” Jason writes. “Price as tested and optioned up was $7600. I’m keen to learn more about these cars, where they were converted, how many were sold and if any survive today?” All good questions, Jason! Can any readers fill in the gaps? Better still, anyone got a Patto Camaro?
