How SteamOS plans to unite PC gaming

Australian T3 - - RADAR -

Valve’s stripped-down, Linux-based operating system can technically turn any modern PC into a Steam Machine with a free download (it’s in open beta at the moment), but the new hardware is tailored to its specific wants and needs. It currently has fewer games than a Windows PC, but boosting Linux support is as much an aim of Valve’s as taking PC gaming to the big screen. The system’s aimed at entertainment, from games to streaming video, connecting to your HD telly and running Valve’s Steam library.
