Why the Sony RX100 II is T3’s compact king…

Australian T3 - - RATED -

Larger sensor – this one-inch CMOS is a rare treat for a compact, delivering 20.2-meg shots and tipping the R100 II into semi-pro territory. Luxury lens – a big CMOS sensor is nothing without a top-notch lens. This bright, f/1.8 Carl Zeiss number is a doozy. Pictures really benefit, with amazingly crisp photos and 1080p video. Fast shooting – a speedy Bionz processor lets you shoot at up to 10fps. Connectivity – Sony’s first compact cam to include built-in Wi-Fi and NFC for sharing pics. Dynamic display – the three-inch rear LCD isn’t a touchscreen, but can be tilted to snap at awkward/creative angles. Hotshoe – accessories are pricey, but the option to add a flash gun or viewfinder is handy. Easy controls twist the lens to tweak key features easily (a useful shortcut to bypass the overly small buttons). Small and strong – very compact but made of sturdy, sleek aluminium.
