VMware A leader in server vir­tu­al­i­sa­tion and cloud soft­ware. It went pub­lic in 2007 and since launch its share price has in­creased by 90 per cent, al­ways gen­er­at­ing profit.

Ten­cent A Chi­nese in­ter­net com­pany mak­ing strides in e-com­merce. It has a very strong gam­ing di­vi­sion and mes­sag­ing plat­form, and is now the fourth largest in­ter­net com­pany in the world.

Sales­force The con­cept of soft­ware as a ser­vice has changed the way businesses man­age sales and cus­tomer re­la­tion­ships. Sales­force is revo­lu­tion­is­ing this with cloud tech­nol­ogy.

ServiceNow An­other “soft­ware as a ser­vice” out­fit – it’s the new big mar­ket trend – and one of the most re­cent tech IPOs. Its share price has risen by 176 per cent and it’s now on the verge of be­com­ing prof­itable.
