Trained at the ground be­neath, they project what they see on to the wind­screen’s ad­vanced heads-up dis­play, giv­ing the il­lu­sion of gaz­ing straight through the hood, help­ing you nav­i­gate round pot­holes and rough ter­rain.

Laser head­lights track in­com­ing traf­fic, en­sur­ing you don’t blind any­one with your high beams, and ev­ery­thing down to the tint of the win­dows is con­trolled by ges­tures. You can even park the car re­motely us­ing your smart­phone – very OO7. And while this may be a con­cept for now, its tech will dripfeed into new Dis­cov­ery Sports from next year. lan­drover.com, out 2015
