Search hub boast­ing a 100 mil­lion-strong cat­a­logue of prod­ucts to ex­plore by bar­code or pic­ture, and a vast li­brary of mu­sic, TV and films that it can recog­nise by lis­ten­ing in. Es­sen­tially it’s Shazam, if Shazam also sold home­wares and tech.

Dy­namic Per­spec­tive

Four IR cam­eras, one on each of the front cor­ners, track your face’s dis­tance and an­gle. Peek at, tilt and swivel the hand­set to view ex­tra info over­laid on pages or scroll through long stretches of text with­out ever touch­ing the screen.

Ama­zon’s face-to-face tech sup­port ser­vice de­buted last year on the Fire HDX tab, hand­ing users a 24/7 Skype-like helpline. Now it’s as­sist­ing Fire Phone users, with techies sort­ing is­sues in a flash by con­trol­ling your screen re­motely.
