The B lack Keys Turn Blue
It’s hard to believe that The Black Keys are still here. Let alone thriving. Having spent years as a cult band recording raw two-piece blues-rock, the Keys seemed to almost overnight become one of the biggest bands in the world. Now, 12 years on from their first album, Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney (Meg White to Auerbach’s Jack) continue to edge away from the minimalism of their earlier recordings, replacing it with a slick, full, but more conventional sound. But we can’t blame them. There’s only so much you can do with one guitar and one drum kit, right?
