The War On Drugs Lost in the Dream

Australian T3 - - MUSIC TO YOUR EARS -

This album of hazy, atmospheric Americana is filled with beautiful heartache. While the escapades of former member, Kurt Vile, have received most of the attention in recent years, The War On Drugs’ main man Adam Granduciel has crafted a fascinating listen in Lost In The Dream. It balances reflective, delicate moments with passages of momentum and release that wouldn’t sound out of place on a Bruce Springsteen recording. The Boss’ insistent hopefulness is lacking, though. This is an album about being broken with no remedy in sight, but if you don’t listen to the lyrics it can also be a toetapping good time. listen to: An Ocean Between the Waves
