Smart key­board

A larger screen means tex­ting re­quires a lot of eye and thumb move­ment be­tween keys and mes­sage area. LG’s sought to re­duce this by putting the word you’re typ­ing, plus two sug­ges­tions by the keys. Not as slick as Swiftkey, but a small im­prove­ment.

The dis­play is di­vided into four sec­tions and you tap be­tween three and eight times wher­ever you please to set your pass­code. It’s oddly more sat­is­fy­ing than a swipe. The LG G3 also has a con­tent lock to keep files pri­vate and a Kill Switch to to­tally wipe it re­motely.


smarter os

LG’s An­droid soft­ware has al­ways looked a bit bland. Un­til now. The new sys­tem has a sim­pler, flat­ter style with cir­cles as the cen­tral de­sign mo­tifs. It uses sub­tler, softer colours that make that ul­tra-bright screen shine with­out as­sault­ing your senses.
