HEY, YACHT STUFF!
Fly through the waves in a Spitfire-powered nautical dream machine
THE $5.5 MILLION luxury AERO boat isn’t just inspired by iconic Second World War fighter planes, it actually packs the same V12 Rolls-Royce Merlin engine as the Spitfire – reconditioned and waterproofed, thankfully. It also boasts 820kW, which is more than enough power to propel up to seven passengers 175km/h across the water.
This speed is aided by the sculpted carbonfibre, Kevlar and wood veneer hull, which keeps the weight down to an exceedingly nippy 7,700kg and mimics the Spitfire’s fluid lines.
Any happy future owners of the ten limited-edition Aeroboats will first dictate a bespoke cockpit design – how about the aeronautically inspired number, on the left? The interior and exterior trimmings you fancy will then be magicked up by superyacht expert Claydon Reeves in its shipyard. $5.5 million, claydonreeves.com, out now
