ARE FORDS ELECTRIC? The American automobile manufacturer turns its focus from Fiestas to electric bikes

ELECTRIC VEHICLES ARE CLEARLY THE FUTURE OF personal transportation, but their biggest drawback is that they’re car-shaped. This means that despite doing your bit for the environment you’ll still get stuck in traffic while cyclists sail by.

Ford thinks it has the answer to this frustrating modern problem. As well as launching a pair of innovative electric bicycles – the MoDe: Me and the MoDe: Pro – the US car manufacturer has created the Ford Smart Mobility Plan. This multi-modal system analyses traffic levels and recommends the quickest way from A to B via car, bike or public transport. It’s currently tied to Ford vehicles, but if the company opens it up for access to all it has the potential to be the congestion-killer we’ve all been praying for.
