Working together a winner

Avon Valley Gazette - - NEWS -

A WOOROLOO local says volunteering at Wooroloo Primary School has increased her sense of community, while helping others.

School P&C president Kerry Congdon has been involved with the group for six years, with the past two at the helm.

“I started when my daughter was in pre-primary and since then we have raised about $30,000,” she said.

“We run a robotics program for juniors and seniors, which cover all areas of the curriculum and we’ve rebooted the music program.

“We are now updating the audio visual equipment and are raising funds to beautify the school grounds.”

While part of the joy comes from seeing the children given access to better programs and equipment, the main benefit for Mrs Congdon is the growing sense of community.

“I love being involved and seeing what a small community can do when we band together,” she said.
