Men’s Shed to grow bigger

Avon Valley Gazette - - FRONT PAGE -

MUNDARING Men’s Shed is gearing up to open a third building with a little help from its members.

The new premises will offer recreational space for men, thanks to a cash windfall from Bendigo Bank in Mundaring and Lotterywest.

Mundaring Men’s Shed vice-president Wally Winfield said the finished building would provide access for people with disabilities and a much-needed space in which to relax inside or out on one of two new verandas.

“We already have two sheds, one for woodwork and a second for metalwork, so we wanted to provide a space where men could enjoy a bit of male camaraderie without having to feel they needed to do activities,” Mr Winfield said.

The men will paint the building themselves and design the landscaping for all three buildings.

Mundaring Men’s Shed is open from 9am to 3pm Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and 9am to noon every fourth Saturday of the month.
