RIVERLANDS MONTESSORI SCHOOL
THE most rapid period of brain development occurs between the ages of zero and three, says Riverlands Montessori School principal Ineke Oliver.
“It is an optimum time for your child to learn, which is why Riverlands Montessori School’s Butterfly House hosts a playgroup for children aged one to three,” she said.
“The playgroup follows the Montessori philosophy, is run by experienced facilitators and offers a good selection of equipment.”
The unique learning environment is friendly, fun and fosters independent and practical life skills.
It features a specially prepared indoor/outdoor workroom where children choose their work from the shelves and explore with their parents.
Sessions include a shared morning tea and a music and movement session.
“We teach children by modelling the activities and then giving them ample opportunity to practise,” playgroup coordinator Brianna Rose said.
“Activities develop concentration, fine motor skills, language, social and practical life skills.”
Riverlands Montessori School playgroup sessions are held 9-11am weekdays. For a free trial, call 9250 6444.
