Chase ends in col­li­sion

A PO­LICE of­fi­cer was in­jured when a stolen car crashed into his ve­hi­cle dur­ing a chase in Forrestfield on Oc­to­ber 19.

About 7.40pm, po­lice saw a stolen Ford Fal­con on Dun­das Road. They al­lege the driver sped off, start­ing a chase in­volv­ing the po­lice heli­copter.

The Ford col­lided with a po­lice car near a traf­fic is­land on Cum­ber­land Road in Forrestfield.

The driver fled on foot and was ap­pre­hended by po­lice in a nearby yard.

The driver, a 20year- old Camillo man, has been charged with fail­ing to com­ply with a di­rec­tion to stop, reck­less driv­ing to es­cape pur­suit by po­lice, no author­ity to drive and steal­ing a mo­tor ve­hi­cle. A 19- year- old fe­male pas­sen­ger from Beck­en­ham has also been charged with steal­ing a mo­tor ve­hi­cle.

The driver was taken to Royal Perth Hos­pi­tal while the po­lice of­fi­cer was treated at the scene for mi­nor in­juries.
