National park fire burns 10ha
THE cause of a bushfire that burnt through 10ha of land in the Greenmount National Park earlier this week is unknown.
The fire was reported at 4.07pm on Tuesday and started near the intersection of Greenmount Rise and Robinson Road.
Department of Fire and Emergency Services district officer Nigel Elliott said career firefighters, DPaW and local brigades attended the fire.
“It was a difficult job for fireys, as it was burning in inaccessible and hilly country, which makes it difficult to manage,” he said.
The Goat Farm mountain bike facility in Greenmount National Park has been closed.
