School in Harmony

Avon Valley Gazette - - NEWS -

HARMONY Day will be celebrated in song and dance on Wednesday at Forrestfield Primary School with the Madjitil Moorna choir and more than 150 school children.

The Ancient Sands- themed night will feature traditional foods and market stalls, along with the launch of a music video inspired by many cultures.

The song, titled Ancient Sands, is a favourite at school workshops presented by Madjitil Moorna’s Koorlong project, which teaches songs in Noongar language to children across Perth.

School children from Forrestfield, Willandra and West Morley primary schools will perform songs from around the world, supported by the Forrestfield choir directed by Della Rae Morrison.

Madjitil Moorna co- ordinator Jo Randell said she hoped people would leave the event feeling welcomed and proud of their heritage.
