Shire sees orange

Avon Valley Gazette - - NEWS -

MUNDARING Shire is hoping to see orange on Wednesday, with shops and businesses urged to embrace the colour of Harmony Day in different ways.

Orange- themed window displays and staff adorned in amber are among the ideas suggested by the Shire, along with the sale of traditional foods.

Chief executive Jonathan Throssell said the Shire would mark the national event by showcasing the spirit of inclusiveness within the local government community.

“Our celebrations are to re- mind the community why our commitment to cultural diversity is one of our greatest assets and that we are stronger because of it,” Mr Throssell said.

“We are encouraging local businesses to be innovative about how they can celebrate with us and the local community."
