Bushfire charges laid
A 27- year- old man charged with two counts of wilfully lighting a bushfire, including one in Darlington, will appear in court again on April 13.
Stephen Kenneth Sherwood, of Narembeen, allegedly lit a small scrub fire near the entry to the Graham Farmer Freeway between 6.30pm and 7pm on Thursday, March 8.
Department of Fire and Emergency Services officers put the fire out and Mr Sherwood was taken to hospital for assessment.
He was charged with starting another fire about 10.35am the next day in bushland on Great Eastern Highway in Darlington.
DFES officers extinguished the second fire and police took Mr Sherwood into custody.
He first appeared in Perth Magistrates Court on March 10.
