Tak­ing lead at Walk

DOG lovers Alyssah and Ben Tompsett are ready to take the lead at the big­gest fundrais­ing event on the RSPCA cal­en­dar.

They will join thou­sands of pet lovers against an­i­mal cru­elty for the an­nual Mil­lion Paws Walk on Sun­day, May 20.

The South Guild­ford fam­ily of Matt and his chil­dren Alyssah ( 14) and Ben ( 13) will step out with res­cue dogs Astro and Poppy.

“We are huge an­i­mal lovers and have al­ways re­spected the RSPCA and its work in the com­mu­nity,” Mr Tompsett said.

“Plus we un­der­stand that RSPCA WA al­ways needs more funds to in­ves­ti­gate an­i­mal cru­elty, so we’re very com­mit­ted to rais­ing money as part of par­tic­i­pat­ing.”

He said funds raised from the fun day out for an­i­mal lovers sup­ported the great work done by the char­ity’s in­spec­tors in fight­ing cru­elty.

Alyssah said ev­ery pet de­served to live in a home where they were loved and safe.

“I think it’s im­por­tant we all help RSPCA WA be­cause they pro­tect scared an­i­mals who don’t have a voice,” she said.

RSPCA WA re­lies on com­mu­nity sup­port to gen­er­ate more than 90 per cent of the funds needed to sus­tain its an­i­mal pro­tec­tion work.

Nine Mil­lion Paws Walk WA Mil­lion Paws Walk Sir James Mitchell Park, South Perth May 20 events will be held across WA, in­clud­ing one in Mun­dar­ing from 9am to noon, start­ing at the CWA Cen­tre.
