PINDAN has been appointed to design and construct stage 1 of the new $ 18.5 million Parkerville Children and Youth Care Stan & Jean Perron Child Advocacy Centre in Midland.
The first stage will see Pindan build the new centre on the corner of Watertank Way and Gauge Road in the Midland Railway Workshops precinct.
The new centre will feature therapy consulting rooms, large family rooms, a specially designed occupational therapy treatment room, WA Police facilities with specialist child interview rooms, lecture theatre, reception area, meeting rooms, office space, fully equipped gym, lunch room and balcony.
Pindan Business development manager James Allingame said the 4000sq m facility was due for completion in mid- 2019, with a second stage of the centre to commence after, involving the renovation of two heritage- listed buildings into offices and a cafe.
“The new centre will allow for more children, young people and families, to access services in the treatment of trauma from abuse,” he said.
The Department of Communities, Child Protection and Family Support will also work with them.
