PARKERVILLE’S Bird Man Simon Cherriman will unveil more than 70 images in an exhibition of his work at The Sound Temple in Sawyers Valley.
The collection Kingdom in the Clouds opens on Friday with images of the Noongar seasons and wedge- tailed eagles.
Cherriman’s passion for wildlife and landscape feature strongly in his inaugural photography exhibition.
The Sound Temple’s Janis Johnston said the Hills- born ornithologist and environmental biologist was an educator and filmmaker.
Some of the images captured form part of his PhD research into the breeding habits of wedge- tailed eagles in WA. Cherriman tracks them by satellite. A START- UP company based in the Perth Hills has netted a shark after delivering a successful pitch on
The guys behind SpacetoCo fronted the panel of self- made millionaires to pitch their plans to expand their business, which lists unique spaces to hire for anything from weddings to tennis games and business meetings.
Co- founder Jeremy Hurst said it was not an easy task to convince an investor to put in $ 210,000 for a 14 per cent stake in the company.
“Our shark was none other than the savvy Steve Baxter,” he said.
Mr Hurst said the idea came to him in 2015.
“My wife and I had just become Airbnb hosts and 10 months earlier we married in our backyard in the Perth Hills,” he said.
“It suddenly occurred to me that if we could be married in our own backyard, maybe others could too.
“We were already sharing accommodation spaces, so why not share more?”
Mr Hurst said their Perth business was growing strongly.
