A GOSNELLS personal trainer is the new Guinness World Record holder for doing the exercise gymgoers love to hate. Levi Kissick Ponga last month smashed the record for the most chest- to- ground burpees in one minute to raise money for cancer research ahead of Daffodil Day today.
Mr Ponga said it was a cause close to his heart after watching his older brother Cory go through prostate cancer treatment and losing family members to the disease, including his grandfather.
“As I was doing it, I was telling myself that the pain is nothing like what cancer patients go through,” he said.
The father- of- two managed 34 chest- to- ground burpees in just 60 seconds – beating the previous record by four – in front of a crowd of more than 70 supporters at Plus Fitness Wattle Grove.
