WA's answer to Woodstock, minus the half- naked hippies in the mud, will kick off again in October.

WA’S answer to Woodstock, minus the half- naked hippies in the mud, will kick off again in October on a spectacular 50- acre property in the Perth Hills.

Gidgestock music festival spokeswoman Veronica McGuire said the two- day festival had been growing since it started in 2015 when a bunch of music enthusiasts decided they wanted to give something back to the local community.

“Just like Woodstock, talented up- and- coming local bands as well as seasoned musicians will be on stage from morning to midnight on October 13 and 14 playing everything from blues, rock, folk and indie.

“Campers can spend Saturday night at the festival with live bands, campfires, rustic camping and dancing under the stars, then wake up to the call of the kookaburras on Sunday morning for more fabulous music and a hearty cook- up breakfast.”

Ms McGuire said all profits from this year’s festival would be donated to the West Gidgegannup Volunteer Fire Brigade and the Leukaemia Foundation.

“This is a family friendly event with plenty of activities for the kids and the Gidgestock experience is based on the Woodstock theme of peace, love and great music,” she said.

“All musicians donate their services for free, and together with our generous sponsors, enable this festival to donate all profits to worthy local causes.

“It is said that if you can remember Woodstock, then you weren’t really there.

“At Gidgestock, we have a better saying – ‘ if you were there last year then you will never forget it.’ ”

A memorable day out for all at the Gidgestock Music Festival in October.
