NAIDOC cel­e­brates lan­guages

NAIDOC week 2017 in St Ge­orge was a chance for those who are do­ing ex­tra­or­di­nary things in the com­mu­nity to be recog­nised.

Abo­rig­i­nal Hous­ing Com­pany’s Chris Lamb said the week, cel­e­brated at the be­gin­ning of July was a great chance for the whole com­mu­nity to come to­gether.

“It is all about pro­mot­ing cul­tures; it doesn’t mat­ter if you are abo­rig­i­nal or not, the week was about com­ing to­gether to have fun,” Mr Lamb said.

On Wed­nes­day, July 5, peo­ple were recog­nised at the NAIDOC award cer­e­mony at the am­phithe­atre in St Ge­orge.
