Dir­ran rules at Toompine

POLOCROSSE: Play­ers from across south­ern Queensland de­scended on Toompine at the week­end to play in the an­nual Nock­atunga Polocrosse Car­ni­val.

Teams from Dir­ran­bandi, the Gold Coast, Charleville, Roma, Quilpie and Thar­go­minda came to­gether to play for the out­back hon­ours, with the Dir­ran­bandi and the Gold Coast com­bined team tak­ing home the A-grade cup, beat­ing Roma 1 by just one point in a close fi­nal match.

Nock­atunga Polocrosse Club sec­re­tary Corissa Jack­son said this year’s event was a great suc­cess.


LET’S PLAY: Games were com­pet­i­tive as play­ers Nick Perkins from Dir­ran­bandi and Tom Hen­nessy from Quilpie play.

The Gold Coast Quilpie game was a crowd favourite.
