Dalby set for retail therapy boom time
DALBY’S retail sector is set to get a strong injection as some giants of the industry edge closer to opening their doors.
Bunnings Warehouse is set to open in mid-October while the site for the proposed Aldi store has been cleared, with construction work set to begin in the near future.
News has also broken that Jeanswest will also set up shop in the town.
Dalby Shoppingworld manager Jon Russell said the addition of these shopping superpowers were a positive for the area.
“From a town point of view, we’ve got major retailers who have confidence in the Western Downs, and I think that shows the strength of our regional economy here,” Mr Russell said. “Jeanswest is opening here late September, and it’s exciting; it’s a young, premium brand with fashion that suits young to old.
“The last three months of retail here have been very optimistic, numerous stores have reported to me they’ve had an increased trade from last year.”
