Leahy sick of Labor’s pains
WARREGO MP Ann Leahy has lashed out at the Palaszczuk government for “short-changing” funding for the new Roma Hospital.
Ann Leahy said Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk announced $70 million for the Roma Hospital in January 2017.
“The Labor Government short-changed the project by $20-29 million,” Ms Leahy said in parliament on October 12.
“Last month the minister (Cameron Dick) announced that the Department of Health had also reviewed the funding for the new hospital to ensure the current levels of investment met future requirements.”
Ms Leahy said as a result of the review, a submission was made and accepted by the Palaszczuk government to increase the allocation for the new hospital from
$70 million to $90.4 million.
“That’s how the Labor Government manages finances,” Ms Leahy said.
“By short-changing much-needed major projects commenced by the LNP.
“It’s no wonder we are here today dealing with unforeseen expenditure bills.”
