SCHOOL SPORT: 2017 marked a brilliantly successful year for St Patrick’s Catholic Primary School not only in the classroom, but also on the field, pitch and in the pool.

The school recently held an awards ceremony for those students who had an outstanding sporting year, with principal Brendan Redinger praising his pupils.

“It’s an annual ceremony that we hold to honour our students, we’ve been holding it for many years. It’s part of the history here at St Patrick’s,” Mr Redinger said.

“We had multiple students represent Balonne and South West Queensland teams in a variety of sports including athletics, cricket and many more.”

Mr Redinger also acknowledged the unwavering support of the schools parents, as he knows the crucial role they play in nurturing their children during sporting endeavours.

“I take my hat off to the students for a great year they have had, and also to the parents and local community. They have been so supportive throughout the year.”

The school’s staff are already working hard to ensure 2018 is even better.
