From the warped minds that brought you hilarious horror spoof Shaun of the Dead comes this criminally funny cop-movie parody which plays like Bad Boys meets Midsomer Murders. London bobby Nicholas Angel (Simon Pegg, pictured), a PC with an arrest record 400 per cent higher than any other, is sent by a chief inspector (Bill Nighy) off to a sleepy Somerset village because he’s making the rest of the force look bad. It’s supposed to be an easy gig, but pretty soon he’s up to his eyeballs in murder. Alongside Jim Broadbent and Nick Frost, Timothy Dalton is superbly slimy as the local supermarket boss in a laugh-out-loud comedy that runs out of puff in the rather divergent finale.
