Guests help shine the light
GUESTS and visitors descended on Moorelands Bush Nursery in Roma on Friday night to celebrate the EzyQuip Hire’s Shine the
Light cocktail party.
The event was the brainchild of five women – Bec Cannon, Tracey Lewington, Kate Fay, Stacey Johnson and Ellen Bain – who came together to raise awareness of mental health issues following the death of close friend Sharon Scherf.
Proceeds from the event went to the Scherf family and mental health organisation RUOK?
Bec Cannon described the event as an “amazing night” which captured the hearts and minds of more than 400 people who attended.
“It has been really well received and is a credit to the Roma community for supporting such a great cause,” Ms Cannon said.
“All the feedback we’ve been receiving from emails and messages have been really positive and we haven’t heard a bad word.” The committee expect the
Shine the Light event to have raised around $60,000.
